Montreal and Stockholm-based progressive metal band VOIDCHASER are set to take listeners on a visceral journey once again with their latest single, “Trust”—the lead track from their upcoming EP of the same name. The single, featuring acclaimed guest vocalist Jim Grey of Australian prog metallers Caligula‘s Horse, will be released on January 10, 2025.

Building on the impact of their debut album, Solace, which garnered over 200,000 streams on Spotify since its release in September 2024 and critical acclaim from outlets such as The Progspace and Riffage, VOIDCHASER continues to reach higher echelons in progressive metal. Described by critics as “rising stars of international progressive death metal” (Riffage) and “an excellent new voice in the ever-brimming Montreal prog and metal scene” (The Progspace), the band promises an emotionally charged and musically intense experience with the single Trust.

Chad Bernatchez (vocals, guitar) commented: “Trust, the single, represents the hopes of being accepted by surrendering your sense of self-identity and blindly trusting the judgement of the person you are trying to gain acceptance from.“

The upcoming EP is the final chapter in the conceptual saga established in Solaceand Odyssey, their debut EP released in February 2024. The narrative picks up at a pivotal moment of despair for VOIDCHASER‘s protagonist—lost in the void of space, facing isolation and impending death. Through three intricately composed tracks, the EP explores memories, traumas, and redemption:

    • “Time” (feat. Universe Effects): A reflective journey on loss and the fleeting nature of life.
    • “Dogma” (feat. The Anchoret): A storm-charged struggle for survival and defiance against impossible odds.
    • “Trust” (feat. Jim Grey of Caligula’s Horse): A poignant exploration of betrayal, redemption, and fragile faith.

VOIDCHASER is composed of core members Chad Bernatchez (vocalist, rhythm guitarist, composer, lyricist) and Jici LG (bassist, arranger, producer), accompanied by Colin MacAndrew (session drummer) and Jimmy Montbriand (session lead guitarist). The EP also highlights VOIDCHASER‘s collaborative spirit, featuring contributions from over 15 incredible musicians from around the world and trusted industry allies. Mixing and mastering were handled by Jason Poulin, guest vocals were recorded by Jared Adlam (Machine Lab Studios), keyboards were arranged, performed and recorded by Mathieu Fiset, and drums were recorded by Mackay Agellon (Borkum Riff Studios). The artwork was created by Sam Harwood, and management is overseen by Metal Shed Productions.

Since the impactful release of their debut EP Solace, VOIDCHASER have solidified their place as a standout act in progressive metal. With Trust, the band embraces an even more intimate, narrative-driven approach, reflecting personal struggles and artistic evolution.

The band’s rise continues with a series of high-profile festival appearances, including ProgPower Europe 2025 alongside acts like Threshold, Kingcrow, Elegy, Nospūn, Kyros, and more. Additional festival performances will be announced in the coming months. Fans can also look forward to Canadian and European tours in summer and fall 2025, further cementing the band’s growing international presence.

“Trust” single will be available on all major streaming platforms starting January 10, 2025. For updates on the EP and upcoming tour dates, follow VOIDCHASER on their social media channels.
