French stoner prog trio Wizard Must Die are set to launch their sophomore studio album L’Or des fous on November 15th via Klonosphere Records. Following the release of “The Breach” lead single, the band partnered with Prog Sphere for the launch of “Flight 19” visualizer. Stream it below.

The band stated: “Flight 19, with its story of a squadron of five TBM Avengers lost in the Bermuda Triangle, transcends notions of disappearance and re-appropriation. The title questions the quest for self through the passing years. What do we become when we choose to change, to ‘disappear’?“

Clocking at over eight minutes, “Flight 19” is a dynamic tour de force. Chokefull of instrumental passages that are neatly placed throughout the track see the band reaching for different domains within the rock spectrum. Straight on circular riffing? Check! Post-rock atmospherics? Check! Progressive rock unpredictability? You got it too!

One does not come across a band that with such an ease transcends all these different soundscapes, and make them look cohesive. Moving between elongated instrumental sections of progressive-sounding guitar work of disorientating tumble and chime and stoner-drenched layered vocals, this feels like a jam that allows you to fully immerse yourself in WMD’s dynamics.

Watch the visualizer for “Flight 19” below.
