As unfinished scraps of ideas tossed around in quarantine began collecting dust, electro prog-rock quartet TAUK decided to revisit them. With some new added mixing magic, natural instruments and electronic components, their newest single “Make Your Move,” was born. Watch the motion graphic below. The single is taken from the upcoming full-length album entitled Chaos Companion, out on September 24th.
“Make Your Move started from a keyboard loop that A.C. had made years ago. Part of the writing process during quarantine included going back through tons of unfinished ideas,” explains guitarist Matt Jalbert. “Voice memos, old recordings from rehearsals, composed files in Sibelius. All of these forgotten pieces have been sitting around waiting their turn.”
Jalbert elaborates on the making of the track, reminiscing, “I love the balance we found on this one of natural instruments mixed with loops and electronic elements. Greg Ellis added the perfect percussion layers that really drove everything home, and Max ZT was able to bring new life into the original loop by adding some amazing hammered dulcimer. We’re pumped for people to hear this one!”
TAUK has been providing new grooves, including singles “Moon Dub” and “The Let Out” all summer long–and they’re not done yet! Filled with fresh and deep sonic exploration, their newest full-length album, Chaos Companion, is out everywhere September 24th.
