PROGSTRAVAGANZA XVII: Progression Artwork Revealed

Progstravaganza XVII submissions open

The seventeenth edition of the Progstravaganza compilation series is titled Progression and is due on February 25th, 2014. Prog Sphere is open for bands submissions, so if you are in a band or know someone who is, contact us at info@prog-sphere.com.

The compilation will be available from Bandcamp and also comes with its official website – www.progstravaganza.com – where all the artists/participants are showcased through profiles and interviews.

The artwork (view it below) for the upcoming sampler was once again designed by Linden Artwork. Commented on the new artwork, designer Chris van der Linden had to say following:

“Progression of course is a pretty funny name when you realize its a compilation of “prog” music. All jokes aside I felt like doing something I had not done before. The last album cover for TimeShift was really futuristic, so now I wanted to go for a more “classical” feel. I thought of evolution and how we and creatures change over time. I combined this with a sort of greek/mythology flavor to give it that classical look. To create an interesting contrast I put the title in a really modern font and made sure all the colors are different from the previous album cover.”

As previously announced, Progstravaganza XVI titled The Moon’s Sphere will be released on January 27th and is highlighting the bands off the New York’s label MoonJune Records. For further updates, like Prog Sphere’s Facebook page and stay tuned.
