DAS MUERTE Tackle Topic of “Fighting Wars for Corporate Profit and Greed” with ‘Annihilate Tomorrow’ Video

Das Muerte

Progressive metal quartet Das Muerte from Boston has launched a music video for their new single “Annihilate Tomorrow.” A video, directed and produced by Anthony Jarvis, Tim Dennesen, and Jon Stenning, can be viewed below.

The band commented: “‘Annihilate Tomorrow’ is about the recruitment of our young generation to the Army under false pretenses, a promise of service and patriotism but the reality of fighting wars for corporate profit and greed. In the video, our young soldier is recruited by the US Army and ends up in a senseless war for no apparent reason. Trapped under gun fire, our protagonist cracks under the pressure and the horrors of war, thinking about his loved ones left back home, he goes on a rampage and ends up committing acts that violate his personal sense of moral and ethic, coming back a broken man, while the “government” (illustrated by the young kid) plays with their army as if they were meaningless toys.

From the PR wire:

“Annihilate Tomorrow” sees Das Muerte taking the next step in their ever-evolving sound, and is a taste for the things to come. The group is currently working on a new single before launching a full-length release in the Summer 2020.

About Das Muerte:

Picking up the pieces from a death metal outfit Goryhole, drummer Euz Azevedo, guitarist Justin Garrette and bassist Andrew Simpson formed Das Muerte and wasted little time branching out into elements of progressive metal, psychedelic rock and free jazz that expanded on the boundaries of their previous work. The band’s name—Das Muerte—which borrows from both Spanish and German and translates to ‘the death,’ reflects on the group’s juxtaposition of the mentioned genres. The Boston group has released two EP’s and two singles up to date. The current line-up consists of singer Vic Foresta, guitarist Justin Garrette, bassist Dusty Mulholland and drummer Euz Azevedo.
