BLUENECK Reveal Video for “Sirens”; Directed by Lasse Hoile

Hailing from North Somerset, UK post-rock outfit Blueneck have been at the forefront of the European post-rock scene since releasing their first critically acclaimed album (Scars of The Midwest) in 2005. The band’s sound has been likened to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, Radiohead, Explosions In The Sky and Sigur Ros.

Having toured extensively over the UK and mainland Europe over the past decade, performing alongside the likes of Cult Of Luna and Mono, 2012 saw Blueneck release their fourth album; the instrumental “Epilogue”. For a band renowned for the distinctive melodic vocals of songwriter Duncan Attwood, a vocal-free soundtrack album was an interesting departure but one that reflected both the interests of and public awareness in the band. After all, American TV channels such as NBC (advertising Defiance, the new sci-fi series from the makers of Battlestar Galactica), HBO (boxing promos) and SyFy channel were all using Blueneck’s music in 2012 and 2013.

2013 sees the band currently working on their fifth studio album, a follow-up to the critically acclaimed double-punch of 2011’s “The Fallen Host” and 2012’s “Repetitions” (EMI Records/Denovali Records).

‘Sirens’ is a taste of the band’s latest material and the video was directed by Lasse Hoile (Opeth, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree).

This Winter, the band also showcased material from the new album at three special , headline shows at Athens, Thessaloniki and finally the band’s only UK headline show of 2013, Upstairs at the Garage in December.
