The date is May 15th, 1996. Porcupine Tree went to South Shields’ Cellar Bar and performed a set comprised of nine tunes. Moonloop was the part of almost every setlist the band played around that time, and I’ve chosen this version from the Cellar Bar, as it felt the most emotional, showcasing great cohesion between the members.
Same as with their ten days later gig at the Canterbury’s Penny Theatre, the line-up included Steven Wilson on guitar and vocals, Richard Barbieri on keyboards and synths, Colin Edwin on bass and Chris Maitland on drums.
Full tracklist from this gig is:
01. Idiot Prayer
02. The Sky Moves Sideways
03. Waiting
04. The Nostalgia Factory
05. Moonloop
06. The Moon Touches Your Shoulders Always Never
07. Signify
08. Up the Downstair
09. Radioactive Toy
