Wilson Sunday: Steven Wilson, “The Holy Drinker” Live in Frankfurt

Wilson Sunday focuses and explores the work of progressive rock guru Steven Wilson.

I’ve been thinking for a while to start up the series of posts that would focus and highlight work of some of the progressive rock’s hardest working artists. And though I had quadruple trilemmas which of them to pick up, I ended up with choosing Steven Wilson, which is as most of you will agree one of the most hard working musicians in the world of prog at the moment. I am not going to predict how many of these posts there will be, but you can expect a new post every Sunday, starting from today – April 6th, 2014.

The video below is taken from the DVD version of Wilson’s Drive Home EP which was released on October 21st last year. The Holy Drinker appears originally on Steven’s latest studio full-length The Raven That Refused to Sing (And Other Stories). The line-up that took part on the Frankfurt’s concert included, beside Wilson himself, Nick Beggs on Chapman Stick, Guthrie Govan on lead guitar, Adam Holzman on keyboards, Marco Minnemann on drums and Theo Travis on clarinet.
