According to guitarist Richie Kotzen, The Winery Dogs are on hiatus.
He talked recently with Justin Beckner from Ultimate Guitar, and said following:
“The Winery Dogs is inactive at the moment. Obviously I’m putting out my solo record ['Salting Earth'] in April and I’ll be touring on that all summer, probably the whole year.
“I know that Mike [Portnoy, drummer] and Billy [Sheehan, bassist] have multiple projects that they are involved with. They are always busy. So we’re all doing our own things.
“We still talk, we’re still friends. We didn’t break the band up or anything like that.
“But we are certainly going to take a break and I’m excited about going back to what I’ve always done and I know Mike is excited about starting up some new projects, because like me, he’s a creative guy, and so is Billy so I’m sure they’ll do well.
“At some point we’ll reconvene and see how we feel.“
The Winery Dogs released their second studio album Hot Streak in October 2015.
