Exclusive Premiere of FEN's 'Of Losing Interest' (video)

Strutter Zine has called it “stunning.” Hard n Heavy Webzine hailed it as spectacular, and Power of Metal gave it a perfect “10/10.” So what does canadian rockers, Fen, do for an encore and to build upon their growing reputation for crafting “perfect modern progressive rock?”

How about releasing their second video in under a month!

Following up on 2010′s break out album, Trails Out of GloomFen return to their heavier roots with the brand new album, Of Losing Interest. And the critical response has been overwhelming. Fans, both new and old, are diving into the intricate melodies, the layered harmonies and stunning musicianship that characterizes the album. With Of Losing Interest, the band has crafted an album that perfectly balances the technical virtuosity of heavy metal with the more down to earth tones of the early 90′s alternative rock movement. Most commonly compared to Tool and Porcupine Tree, with Of Losing InterestFen has clearly claimed their stake as one of the top modern progressive rock bands of their time.

When asked about the new single and video “Of Losing Interest”, Doug Harrison, Fen’s main man said “In a way, the song Of Losing Interest broke new ground for us. We didn’t try to shape it into some convoluted or grandiose structure. We just let the riff be a riff and do its job and we kept the dynamics fairly steady throughout.

At one point I considered titling the song, The Grump, based on the fact that the lyrics are from the perspective of someone who detests social interactions and does what he can to either cut them short or avoid them altogether. The video is a lofo attempt to reveal what it might be inside his head.
