Pink Floyd - The Endless River

November 10th, 2014 will stay remembered in the music history as the day when legendary Pink Floyd released their final album entitled The Endless River.

The new album comes out 20 years after The Division Bell record, and it features music that was originally composed during the sessions for the 1994 album. David Gilmour and Nick Mason, the remaining members of the band, have previously stated that The Endless River is a tribute to late keyboardist Rick Wright, who died from cancer in 2008.

Gilmour previously told the BBC: “This is the last thing that’ll be out from us – I’m pretty certain there will not be any follow-up to this. And Polly, my wife, thought that would be a very good lyrical idea to go out on – a way of describing the symbiosis that we have. Or had.”

Most songs on The Endless River are credited or co-credite to the late keyboardist Richard Wright, who died in 2008. “I didn’t necessarily always give him his proper due. People have very different attitudes to the way they work and we can become very judgemental and think someone is not quite pulling his weight enough – without realising that theirs is a different weight to pull,” Gilmour said.
