Steve Rothery

In a final update for 2013, Steve Rothery wrote on his Kickstarter campaign page about the campaign and first tourdates for 2014. Here’ is the full update:

I’m writing this on New Year’s Eve 2013. What an amazing five weeks it’s been since the launch. The response to the Kickstarter campaign and the Plovdiv live album and video has blown me away.

In the spirit of the holiday season I created a discount code so anyone could get the Steve Rothery Band – Live In Plovdiv download for 50p (around €0.6 or $0.71). This was originally valid until 31st December but it was pointed out to me that some people don’t actually use their computer at all during the holiday period so I’ve now extended the offer until January 12th. If you know of anyone who might be interested can you direct them tosteverothery.com, they click buy now then enter merryxmas in the discount code box then click apply.

I’m still pondering the options for the special edition of the album. It all depends on what most people would prefer in terms of packaging versus costs. I could release a special edition with the documentary and live in the studio DVD for around £17.99 or I could do a more lavish package with the Kickstarter special edition backers names in the booklet etc. and a lot more pages for around £23.99. Let me know your preference.

I’m rehearsing with the guys for a couple of days next weekend before we go in the studio at the beginning of February to record the drum tracks. I’ll post some video clips from both sessions that will only be available to the backers of the project.

The first tour dates of 2014 are

Friday 21 February 2014 Crossroads Rome, Italy TICKETS: www.pointticket.it Support: Ranestrane Saturday

22 February 2014 Forum Veruno, Italy TICKETS: www.ciaotickets.com Support: Ranestrane Sunday

These will be the first time we’ve played the new arrangements of the songs and we’re also going to play a couple of Marillion songs in the encores with guest vocals from some of our Italian friends.

Thanks again for your support, 2014 is going to be a very exciting year for me.
