Marillion guitarist Steve Rothery’s recent Kickstarter campaign for his forthcoming solo album Ghosts Of Pripyat continues to go from strength to strength with just over 24 hours of the campaign left. It is currently the most popular Kickstarter campaign in the UK and the 3rd most popular in the world!
At the time of writing the campaign has hit £53,976, far outstripping the original target of £15,000, meaning that the guitarist has now added a deluxe edition of the album featuring a DVD of a live performance recorded down at Real World Studios and a 24-page booklet designed by Steven Wilson collaborator Lasse Hoile, as well as bundles including t-shirts and tickets to the album launch party in September.
There’s still time for you to get involved if you’d like, by heading to Steve’s Kickstarter page here. Rothery has also begun planning live dates for the Steve Rothery Band, who feature Dave Foster (Mr. So & So) on guitar, Yatim Hailimi (Panic Room) on bass and Leon Parr on drums. They have announced the first four dates for later this year and thus far will play:
Crossroads, Rome, Italy – February 21
Forum, Veruno, Italy – February 22
Cenima Teatro Virtus, Veruno, italy – February 23
Bush Hall, Shepherds Bush, London – November 8
You can still purchase the Live In Plovdiv album download, recorded by the Steve Rothery Band at the Plovdiv Guitar festival last October, by heading here.
