SPECIAL PROVIDENCE Premiere Live Video for “Awaiting the Semicentennial Tidal Wave”

Special Providence

Hungarian prog fusionists, Special Providence in association with Prog Sphere are bringing you an exclusive live video for “Awaiting the Semicentennial Tidal Wave” from the band’s newest studio album “Essence of Change” released earlier this year.

The video was recorded on July 7th, and is off the concert the band played as support to Dream Theater. Drummer Adam Marko says: “It’s been an amazing experience to support one of our childhood heroes in Budapest. We had a great crowd (approx. 3000-4000 people) even though it was 42 degrees and the fact that the Dream Theater guys (Jordan Rudess & Mike Mangini) were amazed and speaking highly about Special Providence made our evening even better. They’ve got a copy of ‘Essence of Change‘ and we’ve exchanged contacts as well. Was a dreamy day, as the whole of 2015 has been for us so far.

As it was a milestone, we’ve decided to shoot a video on the gig and we’ve chosen the song ’Awaiting the Semicentennial Tidal Wave’ which is one of our favourites from the new album and a huge fun to play live.

Speaking about the audience and reception before, during and after the show, Adam comments: “We did not expect this outcome, cause when we’ve finished the soundcheck just few hundred people were noodling around and than when we went back on stage a massive and supporting crowd was waiting us. 3000 people at 6.30 is really flattering and more than awesome.

Special Providence will embark on a European tour next week as a support act for Spock’s Beard. Marko doesn’t hide his excitement. “We are going to support Spock’s in Europe in the coming weeks. 16 gigs in eight countries from 16th of September to 3rd of October.  It’s our longest trip so far and a huge honour and opportunity as well to go on tour with such a legendary band. I think its gonna be a huge fun and super exciting, and the most importantly a great chance to spread and share our music and vibe with a new audience.

The band’s schedule for this year is busy. “This year is really insane in a good way, simply the best and busiest in the band’s life so far. Things are really spinned up since we’ve signed to GEP and released the new album ‘Essence of Change.’ We are working on it hard to keep this progress and continue our way. After the tour ends with Spock’s Beard, we are gonna have a  few weeks off and than we’re gonna do a Czech/ Slovak tour between 29th of October to 5th of November, and as a worthy closure we are going to have a huge concert with strings and visual effects on 28th of November at the Palace of Arts in Budapest.
