SEAN REINERT On CYNIC’s New Album: “It Marks a Gigantic Leap in the Band’s Progression”

Kindly Bent to Free Us

Cynic have revealed the artwork for upcoming album Kindly Bent To Free Us, which is due for release on February 14 next year.

But fans won’t have to wait that long to hear some of the material – the band say some music will be heard before the end of 2013.

Drummer Sean Reinert has described the work as “a bold new sound for Cynic – it marks a gigantic leap in the band’s progression.”

He adds: “We’ve had a lot of time to let this material develop and gestate. I couldn’t be happier about what’s happening with these songs. They are truly alive.”

Kindly Bent To Free Us will be launched via the Season Of Mist label. It’s Cynic’s third full-length album, following 2008′s Traced In Air. Their last release was 2011 EP Carbon-Based Anatomy.
