Jeff Beck’s 17th studio album is currently in production and is expected for release by April.
The guitarist has been working on the follow-up to 2010′s Emotion & Commotion since he wound up a tour with Brian Wilson late last year.
He’s aiming to complete it before hitting the road with his new band, featuring guitarist Nicholas Meier, bassist Rhonda Smith, drummer Jonathan Joseph and violinist Lizzie Ball.
A message on Beck’s website says: “After taking a very short, well-earned break, Jeff has been spending most of his time in the studio. We won’t say too much at present. Suffice to say ‘watch this space’ – it will be epic!”
Beck – whose former bandmate Rod Stewart recently discussed the poor chances of a reunion – also appears on Beach Boys mainman Wilson’s upcoming solo album.
