MARILLION Cancels Mott The Hoople Support Show

Marillion

Marillion have pulled out of their planned support slot for Mott The Hoople in November.

They were scheduled to be special guests of Ian Hunter’s veteran rock band at London’s O2 Arena, but now say they’ve been given no option over cancelling.

Marillion say in a statement: “Following a breach of our original agreement with the concert promoter, we have no choice but to pull out. Marillion were very much looking forward to the show which would have been a great conclusion to our November European tour.

“It is therefore with great regret and apology to Marillion’s fans and to Mott The Hoople (who we respect enormously) that we must cease involvement in this event.

“We have been advised that anyone who has bought a ticket for the show to see Marillion should go to the point of sale to get their refund.”

Steve Hogarth and co – who recently admitted they lost control of the creative process while making recent album Sounds That Can’t Be Made – will take part in Yes’ second Cruise To The Edge festival.
