MAKE ME A DONUT to Release “Bright Side” Album on October 2

Make Me A Donut

Swiss progressive/djent metallers Make Me A Donut (MMAD) are schedule to release their second studio album titled “Bright Side” on October 2. The follow-up to their 2013 debut “Olson” will be out on Tenacity Music. The band is premiering the title song as a video single, see it below.

The single features iwrestledabearonce‘s singer Courtney LaPlante. MMAD‘s guitarist Marc Chevalley commented: “We had the opportunity to work with Courtney on this one. We shared the stage with them last summer as they were touring with Vitja and Texas In July. We had a lot of fun and we’re stoked by her work on this title.

Chevalley says that the creative process of the new album was lengthy. “We nearly put everything on pause to focus exclusively on this album. During 14 months, we wrote 13 tracks and kept 10 of them. The rhythm section put all the foundation together upon which some melodic ideas were added. We also wanted to have more colors on ‘Bright Side‘ and I think it’s an important point. We wanted to experiment with different sounds and have a lot of diversity. You know, everybody listens to completely different music and nobody is trapped in one genre exclusively. So we’re trying to reflect that in a way,” he continues.

Comparing their upcoming release with 2013′s “Olson,” Chevalley says: “We wanted ‘Bright Side‘ to be more experimental. ‘Olson‘ has its own sound and we feel that it is colder. Also, the addition to a new guitarist and singer changed the writing process a lot.

Make Me A Donut have a lot of in the pipeline. “We’re planning to have a clip ready. After this we’ll have a UK tour announced and hopefully an NL one. We’ll get back in studio after this for a short EP, hopefully out by next summer,Chevalley concludes.
