LEPROUS: "Coal" To Be Released On May 20

Leprous have completed work on their fifth album, Coal, to be released on May 20 (May 28 in North America) via InsideOut.

And vocalist-heyboardist Einar Solberg describes the follow-up to 2011′s Bilateral as “more melancholic and darker.”

He explains: “By ‘darker’ I don’t mean more aggressive, but more severe. There’s still a big range in the dynamics, but no jumping between different moods within a song.

“I feel we are one step closer to a personal expression. Producers Heidi Solberg Tveitan and Vegard Tveitan, of Mnemosyne, helped us a lot with reaching the full potential of the songs.”

The Norwegians started work on Coal soon after their European Progressive Assault tour in October last year. They’ll hit the road for a series of festival appearances during the summer. A headline European tour will follow towards the end of 2013.
