Jon Anderson’s debut solo album Olias Of Sunhillow is to be released as a limited-edition Audio Fidelity title next week.
His acclaimed 1976 masterpiece will appear as a numbered, limited-edition Hybrid SACD title, with packaging which features a series of artworks by David Fairbrother Roe.
Inspired by the works of JRR Tolkien and Yes cover artist Roger Dean, Olias Of Sunhillow saw Anderson working almost single-handedly on the top-ten record. Last year he said: “I locked myself away and went crazy out of my brain. If you go to do a solo album you should be by yourself, that’s what I was thinking.
“I came out the other end four months later, and for the first time I put ‘musician’ on my passport knowing that I was a musician.”
He’s continuing work on the sequel, entitled The Songs Of Zamran: Son Of Olias, which he began in 2007, describing it as a “slow-baking cake.”
