Exclusive: TESLA ROSSA Stream New Song “Mythicaluv” on Prog Sphere

Nashville power trio, Tesla Rossa are set to release their self-titled debut album on November 11th. Prog Sphere brings you an exclusive premiere of the album’s lead single, a song entitled Mythicaluv. Hear it below.

Tesla Rossa worked with producer/engineer Vance Powell (Jack White, The Dead Weather, Arctic Monkeys) on a varied and adventurous set of songs.

More than anything else, Tesla Rossa is an organism that has evolved rapidly and constantly through touring, writing, and common living over the past five years. Having played festivals such as Starry Nights, Nashville’s Road to Bonnaroo and CMJ Festival in NYC, they are poised to bring their tightly-composed rock and pop rarities to a larger audience.

Members Jason Denton, Ryan Tullock and Nathan Wahlman met through a polygon of romantic mishaps that would have tested even the best of friendships. Oddly enough, the group gravitated toward one another and before long were writing, recording, and playing wild shows at houses and venues alike. Young and full of fire, they threw themselves into the college party and house show circuit, spreading the good times and igniting many a late-night dance party. As they grew in life experience and musical maturity, however, it was time to see their work in serious light. They enlisted the help of engineer Vance Powell (Jack White, The Dead Weather) to narrow down their numerous demos into a cohesive record and bring it to life. They cut the chosen tracks live in Powell’s studio and brought on Kyle Dreaden, now producer of the band, to mix. After years of heavy touring and writing, Tesla Rossa is finally celebrating their first full-length release.

The record itself spans a wide variety of styles from dicey blues-rock strut to expansive arena melodies. While some of Tesla Rossa’s songs reside squarely in the sparse, fuzzed-out modality of acts like the Black Keys, others sweep into a grand pop sensibility more akin to fellow Nashvillians Kings of Leon. In their most recent work, powerful groove-based drum parts and earworm melodies stand at the forefront.

Perhaps the key to the band’s dynamic is their diversity of taste. “We all have very different listening preferences,” Jason points out. Ryan is a string composer and self-proclaimed pop music fan. Nathan is interested in jazz. Jason has always been steadfast in his love of Rock and Roll. When it all comes together, Tesla Rossa delivers scuzzy rock jams and grand breakup anthems in the same breath, and always with an equal measure of power and finesse.
