Special Providence announce new album "Essence of Change" for March 30th

The new album by Hungarian band Special Providence will be released by GEP on 30th March. “Essence of Change” is “an intriguing mix of prog, jazz- rock and metal,” a perfect blend of modern metal technique, cool jazz grooves and great prog melodies. Prog Sphere has exclusive right to premiere the album preview, check it below.

Asked about the flow of the creative process for “Essence of Change“, drummer Adam Marko says: “Creating ‘Essence of Change‘ was a blast, we really had an amazingly creative and fruitful times while we were putting the stuff together. To be honest it was a huge fun and we’ve been so hungry to make something new and great, not to mention that we’ve been so inspired by loads of things and we really wanted to release these energies. This album is definitely the heaviest and the most progressive one so far. We are really proud of it and cant wait to release it!

The band has once again worked at the Supersize Recording Studios in the suburbs of Budapest, where they previously recorded their critically acclaimed 2012′s album “Soul Alert.”

The recording, mixing and mastering have taken 5 months, and we really took the time, re-orchestrated some of the tunes during the sessions and some of them went to the trash as well. The song writing process has started in the fall 2013,” Marko continues.

Special Providence - Essence of ChangeSpeaking about the title of the new album, he says: “2014 was probably one of the most memorable years in the band’s life so far with all the mayor changes and new adventures within and around Special Providence. The band member change, working on the new material, recording the new album and signing to a new label, these changes just have taught and gave us a lot. We’ve learnt about each other, about relationships, about the life itself and above all to deal with the flow of change which always allowing us to be reborn time after time, to be creative, to take on and fight for new things, to change our beliefs and help us evolve. That’s why the upcoming album is called ESSENCE OF CHANGE.

On the types of change this new music can initiate, Adam states: “I truly think and believe that ‘Essence of Change‘ gonna bring a new breakthrough and a big step forward for the band, with a new and bigger label on board and with a much better PR everything is possible.

Special Providence already has a few concerts scheduled for March and April this year across mainland Europe, but Marko promises more of Special Providence live. The band is also confirmed as one of the acts for the upcoming Night of the Prog festival in Lorelei.

Other bigger events are about to come, and a huge round waiting us in the fall in Europe as well. We will play live as much as we can to spread the world with our music,” he concludes.
